2010 Annual Session

The Annual Meeting takes place during the ODA Annual Session: September 23-26th, 2010.

Friday September 24th - Dr. Ravi Nanda is the featured speaker: Dr. Nanda will present a day-long workshop titled Enhancing Esthetics with Smart Orthodontic Mechanics. This day long workshop will include the OAO Business Meeting Luncheon and 7 CE credits to those who attend  the session and luncheon.

The Ohio Association of Orthodontists (OAO) will hold its annual meeting in conjunction with the Ohio Dental Association Annual Session. This gives Ohio orthodontists a chance to socialize with their general practice colleagues and take advantage of all the benefits of the Ohio Dental Association meeting. Registration for the full day OAO meeting will include both of Dr. Ravi Nanda’s seminars (see Course Codes F32 and F47) and a lunch presentation by Dr. Nanda. By registering for Course Code O80, orthodontists will receive tickets to both seminars and the luncheon and will support the OAO.

This presentation covers the esthetic and biomechanics based correction of Class II extraction and non-extraction patients, including age-based smile and esthetic diagnosis and treatment planning; individualized mechanics based on diagnosis and treatment plan; the role of smart wires and self ligating brackets in quality of treatment; correction of midlines, canted occlusal planes and deep bites; controlling anchorage without mini screws and extra oral anchorage; simple mechanics to correct asymmetric Class II molar occlusion; and twin force bite corrector to correct class II malocclusions.

This presentation covers the management of open-bite patients, including diagnosis, treatment plan and options; pros and cons of various treatment modalities; biomechanics based simple smart wires to correct dental open bites; headgear, habit breaking appliances and elastics; application of bone plates and mini screws to correct open bites; and the management of surgical patients.
